Specl Comee recommend acceptance of Resignation of Mr Spooner as Gardener _ and purchase of his interest there in

Mr Andrews for the Special Committee on
the matter read the following report: _

"The Committee to whom was referred the
letter of Wm H. Spooner proposing to surrender
his lease of the Greenhouse and grounds appur-
tenant thereto, and to relinquish his situation
as official Gardener of Mount Auburn, report
that upon a full consideration of the subject, they
are of opinion that it will be for the interest of the
Corporation to accede to Mr Spooner's request, so far
as relates to his relinquishment of the office of Gardener,
and they therefore recommend that the Treasurer be
authorized to cancel the lease with Mr Spooner,
upon a full settlement of all amounts due the Corpor-
ation from Mr Spooner, and a surrender by him in
good order of the leased premises.

And they further recommend that the office
of Gardener be abolished, and that the care and
superintendence of lots be committed to the Superin-
tendent in such manner and under such direc-
tions as the Trustees shall prescribe.
