Report of Committee & as to rights and obligations of Corporation in respect to Coolidge Avee

Mr Rand for he Committee appointed to
inquire and report upon the petition of sundry
persons representing Coolidge Avenue to be in a
bad condition, submitted their report of which
the following is a copy _ and the report was accepted.

The Committee to whom was referred the rep-
resentation of sundry persons, citizens of Cambridge
living near Mt Auburn that the road called
Coolidge Avenue is very much out of repair so as
to render it uncomfortable if not unsafe, have
considered the subject and now report. The
document in question terminates without any
suggestions of the wishes or expectations of the
subscribers as to the sd. road or way and there-
fore it would be competent for your Committee
to dismiss the subject without more; but in
as much as they have heard that some of the
signers of the sd. paper entertain the belief
that the fee simple of sd. way is vested in the
Proprs of Mt Auburn and that they are there-
fore bound to keep it in good repair; Your
Committee have caused the title to the
land included in sd. road to be investiga-
ted by a competent lawyer whose report on
the same accompanies this report of your
Committee. Your Committee have examined
the minutes of the title, and of a plan sub-
mitted therewith and they have come to the
following opinion, that the Coolidge Avenue
from country road to the South East corner of
