Art. 23

Receiving Tombs. _

Bodies may be deposited in the Receiving
Tombs
, on payment of fifteen dollars to the
Superintendent. But if, within four months after
interment, the deposited body shall be removed to
any part of Mount Auburn, ten dollars of the above
sum shall be refunded, otherwise the whole fifteen
dollars shall be forfeited to the Corporation; and the
Superintendent shall remove the body to such place
as shall be directed by the Committee on Grounds.
But the friends or relatives, with the consent of
the Superintendent, and in a legal way, may, at their
own expense, remove said body from the Cemetery.

Art. 24

Monuments, Stones, Fences, &c.

Proprietors have the right to erect on their lots, fences
monuments and stones of appropriate character.
Wooden fences and gravestones of slate are not
permitted. Live hedges of small or moderate size
are allowed. _

Art. 25

Appropriations

No appropriations of money exceeding one thousand
dollars for any one object, unless it be for the
liquidation of a debt previously existing, shall be
made by the Trustees except at a meeting at least
seven days subsequent to the meeting in which the said
appropriation had been moved; whereof special
notice shall be given. ~
