they further reported recommending

Salary & Duties of Secretary

"That the salary of the Secretary hereafter be
($300) three hundred dollars per annum, _ commencing
on the first of January last _ in addition to his fees for
conveyances, which are to remain as heretofore. _ He shall
notify and attend all meetings, and shall record the doings
of the Trustees & of the Corporation. He shall prepare and
superintend the advertisements and other publications of
the Trustees _ shall prepare all legal instruments directed
by the Trustees, and give legal opinions on all subjects
required by them." ~

Voted that the foregoing report be accepted & adopted.

Supt Clerk _

The subject of continuing the office of Supt Clerk in connection
with the office of Gate Keeper next came up for consideration, & there
being quite a difference of opinion expressed, it was finally

Committee to recommend best method of keeping books & accounts at Mt. Aubn chosen _

Voted that a Committee of two of the Trustees together with
the Treasurer be appointed to confer with the Superintendent
& report at the next meeting upon the best plan of keeping the books
& accounts at Mount Auburn.
& Messrs Bangs, Nazro with the Treasurer were so appointed.

It was then Voted to postpone the matter of Superintendent's ^clerk
& Gate Keeper till after the report of the Committee just chosen.

Raising fund for

Mr. Curtis being detained from the meeting sent a communi-
cation in writing, proposing that some plan should be
devised whereby a "fund might be gradually raised, set
apart & studiously protected, for the purpose of furnishing the
means of hereafter defraying the ordinary expenses of the
