Boston. . This certifies that I have examined the Treasurer's accounts for the year ending Dec. 31.
1853. & find them correctly cast and accurately vouched, with the exception of ten dollars over credited to income in July, & that the balance
in his hands is thirty two hundred & thirty one 18/100 dollars including that amount which he will charge to the corporation in his next account.
He has also exhibited to me certificates of stock belonging to the Corporation as per the annexed Trial Balance of his books. Mace Tisdale.

Note: There is a $100 discrepancy between $1000+$2000+281.25 which equals 3281.23 and not the $3381.23 shown on the page.

The word that was transcribed as "lower" can't be. Compare other "l"s [lower?] on the page. I'm thinking this is an expense for the Washington Tower and my guess is the the questioned word is "tower".

On page 260 (262), will will see the word "tower" in a way that makes me 99% sure the unknown word above is "tower"
