Lot 222. Representative of.

Voted, that in accordance with the petition of the
children and joint devisees of the late Joseph Tuckerman
D.D.
proprietor of lot no. 222 in the Cemetery, Mrs
Sarah C. Becker
of Cambridge, who is the nearest
resident of the joint proprietors, be designated for
the time being to represent said lot and vote at
the meetings of this Corporation receiving a ticket
of admission in that capacity until the further
action of this board.

Lot 406. Perpetual Repair of.

In accordance with the request of Mr Levi
Thaxter
, the vote passed at the last meeting was
amended so as to read thus.

Voted. That upon the application of Levi Thaxter of
Watertown, this Corporation will contract to keep his lot
no 406
. in the Cemetery in perpetual repair upon the
present payment to its Treasurer of the sum of four
hundred dollars; it being understood that the said
Thaxter has expressed the desire to keep said lot in
repair duirng his own life, and that the liability of this
Corporation therefor commences at the time of his death
and that this Corporation is to be authorized by the
contract to prohibit interments in said lot other than
of the said Thaxter, himself, ^and the inmates of his family and his children and
grandchildren and the ^immediate inmates of their several fam-
ilies.

Note: The minutes of the Nov. 2, 1852 meeting are on pp. 235(237) to 237 (239)
The secretary's authority is based on the paragraph at the top of p. 237 (239) that is titled, "Secretary, his power to issue pro tempore Tickets to Representatives. of Deceased Proprietors."

This appears to be the first case of this role of the Secretary being exercised.
