1851-02 Perimeter Fence: Letter from Bryant & Blaisdell, 2021.018.014

To the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn.

The undersigned having made a contract in the winter of 1848 & 9, to build a fence around the south & westerly side of the Cemetery, & the contract having been duly performed, a speedy settlement was expected, but objections being made to some of the items of our bill, to such an amount as we think unreasonable & [?-] [?] to ourseves, we therefore respectfully ask the favour of a Special Committee to be appointed at the annual meeting, with power to investigate & adjust our claims, in a fair & equitable manner, or that said committee may have power to submit ? the whole matter to referees, to be chosen by the parties for the final adjustment of the same.
