#3280 gr.#172-L.

Charles F. Sanbron, Esq., New York.

Dear Sir:-

Your favor of is received. When the St. Matthew lot was cleaned up last Summer a number of iron vases and borders were found broken or rusty, and where the addresses of those interested were unknown, they were removed and marked with the number of the grave from which they were taken, and some of the shrubs and trees were removed or trimmed at the same time. The only object doing any of the work was to removed some of the signs of neglect and decay which are continually appearing as time goes on.

The vase removed from grave 172 is here subject to the owners order but should be properly painted before it is returned to the grave.

The whole lot is to be regraded this season and the work is in fact underway now, and any holes and depressions will be filled up at the time, although I did not find the hole referred to.

The letter enclosed is returned as requested,

Respectively yours,

Sup't.

#1408-L. 148

M.M. Merrill, Esq., Townsend St., Boston.

Dear Sir:-

Your note in regard to the condition of lot #1408 is received. The income of one hundred dollars ($100.00) which was the amount paid towards the perpetual care of the lot is not sufficient to keep the lot in order.

To make the repairs to myrtle you request will cost twelve dollars ($12.00), to clean the small stone one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) and to clean the monument three dollars ($3.00), but there appears to be an unpaid charge of three dollars ($3.00) a against you for flowers furnished several years ago, and by the rules of the Corporation, no work can be done for proprietors while bills for work done in previous years remain unpaid.

Respectfully yours,

-L.

Mrs. Wm. Gell #24 Bennington St., Newton, Mass

#331 &332-L

George V. Leverett, Esq. Boston

Dear Sir:-

Lots #331 and #332 are each 15 feet front and 20 feet deep, making, as there is no separation between them, a total frontage of 30 feet. The tomb appears to have built on both lots, so that it would as you suggest, be necessary to reconvey both, unless the tomb should be removed and the burials made in the ground.

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.

#2082-

Mrs. Ellen M. Pratt, Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, Mass.

Dear Madam:-

The cost of watering the hydrangea on your lot for this season will be one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50).

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.

#3593-S

Wm. Dalton Darton, Esq., Boston.

Dear Sir:-

The myrtle grave at the headstone of Mrs. Pierce is sunken badly and another on the South side of the monument is below the level of the lot. To replant the myrtle will cost twelve dollars and to raise the grass grave three dollars ($3.00). I would suggest that the myrtle be removed and the grave sodded over. Raising and sodding both graves will cost six dollars ($6.00).

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.

Dear Madam:-

In regard to the stains on the headstones about which you called the other day would the proprietors of the lot be willing to have removed the tree which causes the stain.

Respectfully yours,

Sup't.
