Jacob Bigelow Esq

Sir,

We have the pleasure to acknowledge the receipt of the pattern shapes for Windows of Chapel, & understand sufficiently those for the Rose window, but require still some explanation regarding the dimensions of the Nave and Aisle Windows -

You state that "the shapes cut by the mechanic are of the exact size of the openings which are to receive the Glass, and that if a sheet of Glass was cut exactly by one of the patterns it would pass freely through the opening" The person who has cut the shapes states that the patterns for the Nave & Aisle Windows are the right size to fit the rabit, and that if a metal rim or sash is put round it must not exceed the size of the pattern sent"

There is thus you will observe an apparent contradiction in the statement, which prevents us from being able to understand exactly what is meant.—

You

You have also omitted to mark on the top shapes of the perpendicular compartments the length of the compartments from the bottom of the shapes to the bottom of the compartment -- please therefore state in your next the exact length of the long compartments of Nave Window either from the top or bottom of shapes as also the long compartment of Aisle Windows.

This sketch will explain what is wanted B&A Length wanted from point to point of daylight in Nave & Aisle windows

You will also be kind enough to forward our design, and as stated in our last we will return it along with windows.

The Cartoons which you have sent us are exceedingly well executed, and we shall use our best exertions to do them justice in connexion with the instructions contained in your letter & we anticipate being able to make them very effective --

We have also to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the received this day and shall preserve carefully, and return your two designs in
