Mr. Curtis communicated to the Trustees a
letter to himself from W. W. Story Esq on the subject of his
statue of Mr Justice Story which is slated to be ready
for shipment. It was then

Voted that Mr
Curtis
be a Comee with the full power to agree with
Mr Story as to extending the time of the importation of
said statue, and also as to the disposition of it on
its arrival for public exhibition, provided that
the final acceptance of the Statue be reserved
to the Trustees. -

Mr. Curtis of the Com. on the Story Statue
submitted the proposition of Mr Story's agent in Boston,
that the Statue (which had arrived in Boston) might be
exhibited at the Bost. Athenaeum, with and at Mr Story's
expense, until the Trustees should be ready to remove it to
Mount Auburn, provided they would act on the acceptance
at the Athenaeum - It was then

Voted that the
Trustees will accept the Statue of Judge Story, delivered in the
vestibule of the Boston Athenaeum, provided it shall be found
in good order, and that it may be exhibited there by Mr
Story
until the further order of this Board, he keeping the
same insured against fire for the amount of the cost
of it, & taking reasonable precaution to protect it from
