CEMETERY OF MOUNT AUBURN.

The TREASURER Reports the following Abstract and RECEIPTS and EXPENDITURES for the 28th year, 1859.

He has received: From Income of Investments $1,291.16 From Sales of Lots 25,675.79 From Expenses for Deeds 144.00 From Jonathon Mann, Superintendent 538.44 From Stock in Boston and Lowell Railroad - 2 shares shold 937.50 From Boston and Providence Railroad 20 shares sold 1,910.00 From Sundry parties, for Labor, &c, at the Cemetery 2,487.98 From Sundry parties for Tombs 3,650.00 From Mass. Horticultural Society, for balance Stone Farm 6,129.15 From Mass Society for Interest on same 367.75 $43,131.77 He has paid as follows: To sundry parties, for Expenses $9,848.70 ss W.A. Stone, for Note for Stone Farm 3,833.00 To Notes Receivable, secured by mortgage, with Int. accrued, 5,056.75 To Jonathan Mann, Superintendent 2,267.16 To Austin J. Coolidge, Secretary 458.58 To Mass. Hospital Life Ins. Co., for Permanent Fund 5,041.00 To Mass. Horticultural Society, for their proportion Sales 6,164.95 To Geo. Wm. Bond, Treasurer, for 2 1/2 per cent. on $26,059.79 651.49 To N. Francis, refunded amount overpaid by him 37.67 There was due the Treasurer, Dec. 31, 1858 65.14 There now remains in his hands 9,707.33 $43,131.77 GEO. WM. BOND, Treasurer. This certifies that we have examined the books and accounts of the Treasurer of Mount Auburn, for the year ending Dec. 31, 1859, and have found them correctly kept and properly balanced, with satisfactory vouchers for all payments charged.

The Certificates of Stock, and other evidences of property, were found in accordance with the statements in his accounts.

In the Fund for Repairs there appears to be due him nine hundred and sixty-nine 76-100 dollars; and there is due from him on the General Accounts of the Corporation, ninety-seven hundred and seven 33-100 dollars.

Tomb under Park St. Church$ 200.00 Notes Receivable 5,000.00 Stock in Shawmut Bank 15 shares 1,500.00 Stock in Boston and Lowell Railroad.. 4 shares 2,000.00 1,990.00 Stocks in Boston and Providence Railroad 20 shares 2,000.00 2,100.00 Stock in Atlantic Bank 20 shares. 2,000.00 Stock in Western Railroad 30 shares 3,000.00 3,000.00 Stock in Boston and Worcester R. R 24 shares 2,400.00 2,520.00 Stock in Fitchburg Railroad 20 shares 2,000.00 1,920.00 Superintendent’s House 6,892.91 Cash 9.707.33 Deposit for Permanent Fund 14,918.72 Lot 567 100.00 $51,718.96

Number of Lots Sold 103 Number of Lots added to 13 Received for Spaces to 8 Lots, about $180.15.

REPAIR FUND. The Treasurer has in his hands, invested for Fund for Repairs: 30 Shares Atlas Bank—cost $2.970.00 8 Shares Fitchburg Railroad cost 841.00 10 Shares Western Railroad cost 1,002.50 Notes Receivable, secured by mortgage of Real Estate 9,500.00 $14,313.50

In order to secure favorable investments, he has slightly anticipated receipts, and over invested $969.76 which he has advanced from the general funds of the Corporation.

Amount of Cash received from Proprietors and others, for labor and materials, $22,508.18 Received of George Wm. Bond, Treasurer. 2267.16 24,775.34

Amount of Disbursements during the year, for labor and materials $24.326.08 Paid Geo. Wm. Bond, Treasurer 449.26 $24,775.34 Number of New Lots Graded, and bounded with Granite Posts 96 Number of Old Lots improved by béing new Graded and Sodded. 73 Number of Iron Fences erected 33 Number of Lots enclosed with Granite 35 Number of Tombs built 6 Number of Monuments erected 38 There are Bills outstanding, due the Corporation, for labor and materials $2,300.00 And sundry Bills against the Corporation, for labor and materials, about 900.00
