CEMETERY OF MOUNT AUBURN.

The TREASURER Reports the following abstract of Reczrrrs and EXPENDITURES for the 27th year, 1858.

He has received : From Income of Investments, - $1,240.60 From sales of Lots 24,434.68 From sundry parties, for Deeds, &c., - - 157.00 From City of Boston Scrip, matured, ~ - - - 3,000.00 From Jonathan Mann, Superintendent, - - - - 834.16 From sundry parties, for Labor on Lots, &c., —-- - -525.00 From City of Boston, for Scrip and interest belonging to the Subscribers to the Story Statue, - - - 662.24 From sundry parties, for J. Mann, Superintendent 143.50 There remained in his hands, Jan. 1, - - - ~ - 173.89 Due to the Treasurer, Dec. 31, - - - - - - 65.14 $31,244.61

He has made payments as follows, viz: To sundry parties, for Expenses, - ~ ~ - ~ $3,584.55 For Interest on Notes for Stone Farm, ~ - - - 739.30 For Principal on Notes for Stone Farm- - - - 7,755.00 To Jonathan Mann, Superintendent, - - - - 4,140.15 To Jonathan Mann, Superintendent and collected for him, 143.50 To Rich’d S. Greenough, bal. due on Statue Gov. Winthrop, 2,500.00 To Louisa Crawford, bal. due on Statue James Otis, - ~ 2,500.00 To Thos. J. Bayley, transport’ g and setting up above Statues, 100.00 To Mass. Hospital Life Ins. Co., acc’t Permanent Fund, . 5,675.00 To Austin J. Coolidge, Secretary, account for salary and services, 1857 and 1858, - - ~ - - 616.93 To Mass. Horticultural Society, for one-half their interest in Sales the past year, - ~ - - - - 2,879.33 To Geo. Wm. Bond, Treasurer, 2 1/2 per cent. on $24,434.68, 610.85 $31,244.61

This certifies that we have examined the books and accounts of the Treasurer of the Proprietors of Mount Auburn, for the year ending Dee. 31, 1858, and have found them correctly kept and properly balanced, with satisfactory vouchers for all payments charged,

The Certificates of Stocks and other evidences of property were found in accordance with the statements in his accounts.

In the Fund for Repairs there appears to be in his hands, thirty-nine hundred and eighteen dollars 62-100; and the General Accounts of the Corporation are indebted to him in the sum of sixty-five 14-100 dollars,

REPAIR FUND.

This Fund arises from sums received by the Trustees, from Proprietors, and invested under their direction; in consideration of which, the Corporation guarantees the Perpetual Repair of their Lots, or where the sum is insufficient to warrant them in so doing, appropriates the income earned to that purpose.

The Treasurer has in his hands, belonging to this Fund, the following Property, viz: 15 Shares in Atlas Bank, cost, - - - $1,470.00 8 Shares Fitchburg Railroad, cost 841.00 10 Shares Western Railroad, cost 1,002.50 Note, secured by mortgage on house on Oak street, 4,000.00 Cash which Treasurer holds in U.S. Treasury Notes, - 3,918.62 $11,232.12

There are Bills outstanding, due the Corporation, for labor and materials, - $3,200.00 | And sundry Bills against the Corporation for granite work, &c., say - - 1,300.00 $1,900.00 There have been collected of the above bills,in behalf of the Corporation, upto January 22,1859, $1,200.00 And nearly all bills against the Corporation have beén paid.
