8 This certifies that we have examined the books and accounts of the Treasurer of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, for the year ending December 31, 1857, and have found them correctly kept and properly balanced, with satisfactory vouchers for all payments charged.

The certificates of stock and other evidences of property were found in accordance with the statements in his accounts.

In the Fund for Repairs there appeared to be due him one hundred and twenty-four 85/100 dollars, and to be in his hands belonging to the general accounts of the Corporation, one hundred and seventy-three 89/100, dollars. CHARLES C. LITTLE, CHARLES G. NAZRO, Finance Committee. BOSTON FEBRUARY 1, 1858.

SUPERINTENDENT’S. REPORT, For the Year ending December 31, 1857. Amount of cash received during the year, for labor and materials, from proprietors and others, $31,188.76 Received of George W. Bond, Treasurer, - - 4,003.26 $35,192.02 Amount of disbursements during the year for labor and materials, - - - - - 34,040.32 Paid George W. Bond, Treasurer, cash on account, ‘1,151.70 35,192.02 There are bills due from proprietors to the Corporation for labor and materials in 1856 and 1857, 3,600.00 Sundry bills against the Corporation, for granite work, &c.—say - - - - - - 1,500.00 2,100.00 There have been collected of the above bills in behalf of the Corporation up to Jan. 28, 1858, about 2,000.00 And nearly all bills against the Corporation have been paid.
