Fold in sabling embrace the universe
With that strange nearness to His silence,
Comfortful, eloquent, satisfying,
Becoming then the servant
Of His creation, sleep!

This came now for Mrs. Yost:

-Faith or Faithfulness-

I need not announce my faith
Unto the day. I need not make
One word. Rather would I
Set my hands at shuttling at the loom.
Lo, have I slipped and slipped
The dull, dull woof and warp,
Smiting, smiting, smiting through the day.
Each smite my heart!
What then is faith to faithfulness?

Mr. Watts was next and Patience began by giving this whimsical poem:

-Wise Fishers-

Oh, the fishers are wise!
In the early morning do they let down
Their nets. Yea, and sit watching, watching.

Oh, the fishers are wise!
In the early morning do they let down
Their nets unto the sea of Eternity,
Fishing, fishing. And the fool
Brings forth a whale which devoureth him
And the sage a minnow, and he hungers!

This was thoroughly enjoyed and Patience said to Mr. Watts:

"This be good reasoning. Egad, for thy day."

We all agreed with this and Patience gave him another whimsical poem,
which follows:

-Ambition-

Yesterday, I a lad, upon the roadway,
Sought the marts with a pence
In my hipslot. Yea, and I met
Seven fellows upon the way
And each made barting for the pence.
And at eve I found me
Wi' seven shillin's and e'e
Which looked unto the townsway!
