I long ago gave up expecting anything of the first.
The large pictures are at Leslie's yet, awaiting judgement.
After they have passed through their hands, I
shall submit them to the AM. Agriculturist folks
and perhaps to Appleton's. I cannot learn that there
is anyone here authorized to examine such things
for Every Saturday. I [?] I told them that
Hosier was very friendly & cordial. The visit
to his room are the bright spots in my pilgrimage
to New York. He has shown me a way of preparing
blocks which entirely does away with difficulty in
washing in even tints. He has plenty of work, and
Reynold's is doing much better than ever before.
has done something for Harper lately, and for
[?] Magazine. If I could draw well
enough there would be no lack of work for me,
"and that [?] the matter with me". - Lucy
wants to know what to use for sticking shells,
cones &c. to frames. Can thee tell her? If this can
please do so in thy next. It ought to be something
