I John A. Quilty of Fairhaven in
the County of Rutland and State of
Vermont, late Second Lieut. of 2nd Battery
of Vermont Volunteers on oath depose and
say that George S. Laird was a pri-
vate in said Battery and that he died
at the Hospital at Camp Parrapet Carrolton
L. a. on the 23d day of August 1862, with
Fever and chronic darrhea disease which he contracted while
in the service of the United States and in
the line of his duty
