Editor Independent,
Dear Sir:
It is very gratifying to receive such welcome from the Independent. I feel that its old and honored name will throw lustre upon a new one, and I hasten to comply with your invitation to contribute. If one or the other or both of the enclosed bits of verse are acceptable, I shall be very glad. If not suitable, will you kindly return me, for which purpose stamp is enclosed?
Sincerely Yours,
Edith M. Thomas.
