SUMMARY OF MILITARY OCCUPATIONS: PASSENGER SERVICE OFFICER: Assigned to the European division of Air Transport Command. Was responsible for the reception and orientation of all personnel travelling by air transport. Provided services and comforts for passengers: arranged transportation, messing, billeting, and recreation; activities. Supervised the operation of transient officer and permanent officers' clubs. In addition acted as Billeting Officer, responsible for the administration and organization of housing facilities and their proper maintenance . Prior to the above duties was responsible for the operation of a consolidated mess capable of feeding 3,000 personnel. Supervised the preparation and serving of food. Prepared menus; procured rations; made periodic inspections to insure cleanliness and sanitary safeguards.
