[JUNE 1, 1776]

The Committee of Privileges and Elections have, according to Order, proceeded to the examination of Thomas Mitchell, who was apprehended on suspicion of being inimical to the Rights of America - and it appears to your Committee that the Offence, with which he was charged, comes under the Cognizance of a Court of Commissioners, whereupon the Committee came to the following Resolution. Viz.

Resolved as the Opinion of this Committee that the said Thomas Mitchell be sent to the Court of Commissioners for the County of York, there to be tried.
