Dr. F. T. Amiss, a witness, being first duly sworn,
says as follows:
By Mr. Dovell:

Q. Did you see Marvin Jones at the County Jail, Monday afternoon,
September 6th?
A. Yes, I saw him.
Q. About what time would you say it was when you first saw Marvin Jones?
A. I was just trying to think. As soon as the Sheriff called
me.
Q. Where was Marvin Jone when you saw him, in one of the cells?
A. Yes.
Q. Did you examine him at the Jail?
A. Yes.
Q. What ws his condition at that time?
A. He was deeply unconscious; would not speond to any test.
Both pupils were dilated; respiration was slow, and pulse
slow; had a laceration near the base of his skull, on the right
side, about an inch in length.
Q. Did you later remove him to the Page Memorial Hospital?
A. Yes, I suspected a fracture.
Q. Was he X-rayed at the Page Memorial Hospital?
A. Yes.
