April 30, 1918.
The meeting opened with the reading of the records and a short talk by Mrs. Dearing, one of the head workers at the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood House, who explained to the club the work accomplished at the house during the past two years and what was being attempted now, especially in the way of real war work. After a few announcements by the President, the afternoon was put in charge of the History and Travel Department, Mrs. Souther, Chairman. The speaker was Mrs. Charles F. Dole, whose talk "A Year Away from Time" proved to be a very charmingly intimate chronicle of the year's trip took Mrs. Dole, with her husband, as far as the Hawaiian Islands. The talk was illustrated by a large number of sketches made by Mrs. Dole during the trip. Adjourned to May 7.

The meeting was held in the upper hall, the President in the chair. The reading of the recording was omitted. After some notices, the speaker of the afternoon, Mr. William H. Kenney, was presented. In his introduction Mr. Kenney said that he had nothing new to tell about his experiences in France as a member of the Ambulance Corps, but the audience found his descriptions very interesting, and the pictures loaned by the French government were quite remarkable. A number of questions were aksed and answered, and Mr. Kenney had some interesting souvenirs to show. Adjourned to May 14.

Executive Board Meeting, May 10, 1918.
The regular meeting of the Executive Board was held on May 10 at 793 Centre St., the President in the chair, and the following members present: Mrs. Adams, Mrs. S. C. Brackett, Mrs. Coe, Mrs. Eldridge, Mrs. Grabill, Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Goodnow, Mrs. Kenyon, Mrs. Storrs, Mrs. Souther, Miss Swain, Mrs. Chadwell. The report of the last meeting was read and accepted. It accepted and placed upon the waiting list, to be voted upon at the next meeting of the club. The Board decided that Miss West, who has been an honorary

member from the West Roxbury High School, should be admitted upon payment of the five dollar membership fee. For the Children's Day Committee Mrs. Coe reported that 170 tickets were given out, 119 taken, and the expenses were $20.96. For the Social Service and Legislative Committee Mrs. Brackett reported the progress of the various measures in which the club has been interested this year. The name of Miss Marguerite Whitcomb was added to the list of new members to be voted upon at the next meeting of the club. The matter of arranging dates for Current Events for next year was taken up, and it was VOTED that we leave at least two dates for Current Events vacant, to be filled as may seem wise later in the year. Also VOTED that the Current Events Committee ask Mrs. Crawford to reserve the four following dates, if possible, for next year: November 5, December 3, March 4, and April 1. The matter of appropriations from the treasury for charity was taken up, and after some discussion it was VOTED that the following recommendations be made to the club to be voted upon at the annual meeting:- Jamaica Plain Neighborhood House, $50.00 Memorial to Mrs. Ward, 25.00 Jamaica Plain Friendly Society 25.00 District Nurse 50.00 American Fund for French Wounded 25.00 Also VOTED that we appropriate from the treasury enough to make our fund for the Furlough Houses $150.00 if needed. The Treasurer's report showed a balance on hand May 1 of $547.56. Of this $353.06 was the active fund, $141.50 reserve fund, and $53.00 the fund for the Furlough Houses The report was accepted.

Annual Meeting, May 11, 1920.
The annual meeting of the Tuesday Club was held on the afternoon of May 11, 1920. The business meeting was in charge of the President, Mrs. Rees, who called first for the annual report of the Secretary, which was read and accepted. The reports of the Treasurer, Auditor and Corresponding Secretary were also accepted and placed on file.
The club also VOTED that the following applicants for membership be accepted and placed upon the waiting list: Miss Gertrude E. Shaw Mrs. Henry Thanish Mrs. Elias Field Mrs. John R. The President reported that there was available in the treasury, to be disbursed by the club, $100.00, and that the Executive Board recommended the following gifts: Jamaica Plain Friendly Society, $50.00 " " Neighborhood House, 25.00 Salvation Army Day Nursery, 15.00 Hospital for Blind Babies, 5.00 Children's Museum. 5.00
The club VOTED that these appropriations be made.

The report of the tellers showed an unanimous vote for the above candidates, 191 ballots being cast. Mrs. Rees then with appropriate remarks handed the gavel to Mrs. Grabill who graciously responded and [with] as her first duty appointed the following Nominating Committee for another year: Mrs. Albert W. The entertainment for the afternoon was in charge of the Hospitality Department, Mrs. Grabill Chairman, and presented Mrs. Nena Fales Peck, whose original musical caricatures provided a charming and novel entertainment.
At the close of the program a reception was given to the retiring president, Mrs. Rees, in the lower hall, which was tastefully

decorated for the occasion. Music was furnished by a small orchestra of young ladies, and refreshments were served. Receiving with Mrs. Rees was Mrs. Robert M. Morse, first president of the club, while those who poured were three other ex-presidents, Mrs. Charles H. Adams, Mrs. Charles H. Souther, and Mrs. Thomas W. Carter.
There was a large attendance, and the occasion was one of the most pleasant in the hisory of the club. Margaret H. Chadwell. Recording Secretary.

The Board met at 10.15 on May 14. at 16? Aldworth street, with Mrs. Grabill the newly elected President in the chair. The members present were Miss Gurge, Mrs. F. Safford, Mrs. Hyde, Mrs. Achorn, Mrs. Stanwood, Mrs. Russell, Mss Coburn, Miss Coe, Miss Bowditch, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Rees, Mrs Henderson, Mrs.Ross, Mrs. Goodnow, Mrs. L.J. Brackett, Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Fairley, Mrs Eldridge, Mrs. Pratt, Mrs. Sears. The secretary's report was read and accepted. The Com. Sec. presented 3 names, which were passed by the board. Mrs Raymond L. Seaver. " Robert Seaver (reinstatement) " August Haffenveffer? Mrs. Grabill stated that the office of 1st Vice Pres. was now vacant, and proposed fro the office same, Mrs. L. J. Brackett. Mrs. Brackets was voted in.

To fill the unexpired year of Mrs. Brackett's terms as director, Mrs Charles Currier was proposed and voted in. For Assistant to Secretary, Mrs. James A Fairley was proposed and voted in. For Assit. to Treasurer, Mrs. Ransome D. Raff was proposed and voted in. To continue as State Federation Secretary for another year. Mrs. Eldridge was voted in.
The newly elected members of the Board were at once notified by telephone, and their attendance at the meting secured.
