Executive Board May 7, 1926 The regular meeting of the Executive Board was held May seventh, at the Loring-Greenough House, and was opened by the President. Those present were Mrs. Coe, Mrs. Grabill, Miss Gilbert, Miss Coe, Mrs. Dillaby, Miss Perry, Mrs. Goggin, Mrs. Walter Russell, Miss Howard, Miss Homes, Mrs. Eldridge, Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Seabury, Miss George, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Henderson.

The secretary's and treasurer's report's were read and accepted, the latter showing a balance $684.53 for the Tuesday Club, and #$2076.55 for the Loring-Greenough Fund.

The resignation of Miss Mary Howler as director, was regretfully accepted, and it was voted that the vacancy should be filled by the next Board.

It was announced that the Current Events Department had engaged three speakers for the coming year, Mrs. Claude U. Gikou for the first meeting

The president appointed the following as the nominating committee for the coming year: Miss Fannie E. Coe, Mrs. Walter B. Russell Mrs. Henry W. Brewer Mrs. Gerald M. Thaxter and Mrs. N. Richard Ohler.

The afternoon was then in charge of the Hospitality Committee, Mrs. John Dane chairman. A novel entertainment entitled The Tuesday Tattler was presented. Various members of the club gave different newspaper articles, each being dressed for the part.

Mrs. Grabill - Club notes, Parking problem solved & weather forecasts.

Miss Fannie Coe - Antique costumes, illustrated by a bridal outfit made in 1856 and worn by Mrs. Lawrence Mayer. Miss Coe has given this costume to the Loring-Greenwood House to start a collection.

Mrs. Stanwood - the Antique shop Mrs. Souther - the Society column Mrs. Rees - the Editorial Mrs. Brues - Observations of the Gardener in verse. Mrs. Dole - Review of the Tuesday club play. Mr. Locke - Chinese stories.

After the program a tea was held in the Loring-Greenough house. The tables were charmingly decorated; on one was a huge yellow bowl filled with ngreat

branches of forsythia to match and in the adjoining room a Japanese bowl, with pink decorations, held tall sprays of pink cherry blossoms. Strawberry ice cream & cake were served by Mrs. John M. Brodie Mrs. Thomas C. Greene Mrs. Howard V. Shipley & Mrs. Arnold U. Weeks.

The regular meeting of the Executive Board was held May fourteenth, at the Loring-Greenough House, and was opened by the President. Those present were: Mrs. Rees, Miss Perry, Miss George, Mrs. Seabury, Miss Holmes, Mrs. Dillaby, Mrs. Edwin Adams Mrs Coe Mrs. Belden Mrs. Sears Mrs. Grabill, Mrs. Goodnow, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Dane, Miss Anna Weld, Miss Coe, Mrs. Hyde Miss Howard & Mrs. East.

It was reported that there are 34 names on the waiting list.

The report of the treasurer in account with The Jamaica Plain Tuesday club from May 1 to 12th was read.

It was voted that Miss Minnie Gilbert be put on the executive board for one year in

place of Miss Mary Fowler.

The President appointed chairmen of committees for the following year as follows:

Hospitality - Mrs. Grabill - assisted by Miss Weld & Mrs. Coe Art - Mrs Edwin F. Adams - " " Mrs. Sears Current events - Mrs. Goodnow " " Miss Howes History & travel - Mrs. Eldridge " " Mrs. Belden Literature - Mrs. Dane " " Miss Coe Music & drama - Mrs. Farnsworth Baker asst. by Mrs. Howard Home economics - Miss Gilbert asst. by Mrs. Russell Social service & legislative - Mrs. Seabury asst. by Mrs. Hyde

It was voted that Children's Day be omitted from the regular program.

It was voted that Mar. 15th be used for the play.

Wednesday, June 16th, was set as day of last board meeting of the year.

Mrs. Dillaby reported $284.40 already received from the holiday calendars.

It was decided that the Loring-Greenough library be continued for another year & that the library be kept open two afternoons a week - Mrs. East chairman.

Meeting was adjourned at 11:50 A.M.

CANDIDATES FOR OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS 1926 - 1927 As presented by the Nominating Committee

was extended to the retiring officers.

AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS

To amend Article !!, so that is shall read:

The object of this Club shall be to advance education, general philanthropy, to foster civic and community spirit and to preserve for posterity the historic mansion known as the Loring-Greenough House, situated at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain.

ARTICLE V, SECTION 3.

Insert after, "and mortgage the same," the phrase "or otherwise dispose of" and strike out the last paragraph of the section. The opening sentence shall read, "There shall be a Board of Five Trustees for administering all corporation property, with full power to lease, sell, mortgage or otherwise dispose of the same or any part thereof."

The regular meeting of the Executive Board was held in the Loring-Greenough house on June 16, 1926. Those present were Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Dillaby, Miss Holmes, Miss Howard, Mrs. Coe, Mrs. Rees, Miss Weld, Miss George, Miss Gilbert, Mrs. Hyde, Mrs. Eldridge, Mrs. Seabury + Mrs East. The secretary's report of the last meeting of the executive board was read + accepted. The treasurer's report book in account with the Loring-Greenough House fined ^on May 1st.^ with the J.P. Tuesday club ^from May 13th to June 1st^ were read + accepted. The treasurer reported that there are 384 paid members, leacing only 16 vacancies, and 17 associate members. The following resignations were reported: Mrs Chas. Smith, mrs. Harry Smith, Mrs. Warren R. Bennett, Mrs. Leon Berry, Mrs. Geo. Cowan, Mrs. Arba J. March, Mrs. Anne Lee, Mrs. W. C. Mattox, Mrs. Hoeble, Mrs. Lelans Pierce and Mrs. M. E. Mack. Voted that Mrs. A. J. March be placed upon the associate list. Voted that the courtesy of the Tuesday club be extended to Miss Helen Greeley during her residence in Boston. The chairman odf committees reported the members of their respective committees

Reports for the Yearbook should be sent to Mrs. Seabury in August, not later than the 1st of September. Mrs. Dillaby reported $335.00 made from the holiday calendars.

The recording secretary's report of the last meeting of the executive board was read, several corrections made & these accpted.

The correspondence secretary reported 16 names on the waiting list and 6 new applicants, and 18 that have been admitted to the club - as follows: (see opposite page)

There were two resignations : Mrs. Daniel Campbell & Mrs. Shannon.

Executive Board. Oct. 7, 1926

The regular meeting of the Executive board was held at the Loring-Greenough house on Oct. 7, 1926. Those present were Mrs. Rees, Mrs. Goodnow, Miss Howard, Mrs. Hyde, Mrs. Grabill, Miss Holmes, Mrs. Daland, Miss Coe, Mrs. Eldridhe, Miss Weld, Miss Perry, Mrs. Coe, Mrs Sears + Mrs. East. The reports of the recording secretary + of the treasurer were read + accepted. Miss Perry reported that nine members had moved out of town, + that Mrs. Wm B. Parker had resigned. It was announced that the salvage sales would begin the last Saturday in October + last through the following Saturday. Miss Weld asked for help in selling tickets to the Russian entertainment.
