Under the direction of the Current Events Department,
Mrs. Poole gave the last of her series of four talks on History
in the making. The speaker referred to the oil scandal,
of the possible candidates for President, the outstanding
bills coming before Congress and of the Pan American
conference recently ended. Turning to European
affairs, the elections in France and Germany were
discussed, of the questions coming before the League of
Nations, the interest of Romania and of Britain’s
anxiety concerning the situation in Egypt and
King Amanullah of Afghanistan. Mrs. Poole
answered questions from the floor.
