November 1, 1927

The President of the Tuesday Club presided at the
meeting held November first in the Unitarian Parish
House.
The report of the recording secretary was read and
accepted.
Mrs. Edric Eldridge, Chairman of the History and
Travel Department announced that Mrs. Francis B. Sayre,
the speaker of the afternoon, was unable to appear and
that the Club was most fortunate in securing Mrs.
Courtney Crocker of Boston whose husband was the
successor of Mr. Sayre as Adviser to the Siamese
Government in Foreign Affairs.
Mrs. Crocker, in speaking of Siam, informed the
members of how happy, clean, courteous and efficient
the Siamese people are, their beautiful buildings and
many temples, good streets where formerly there were
only canals, the King kind and thoughtful of others,
the tempterature high in the day time but cool nights
and very comfortable although lizards, mosquitoes and
ants were numerous.
Moving pictures were shown of the coronation of the
King and the cobra farms of the Pasteur Institute where
the anti toxin is made for the treatment of the
natives who have been bitten by cobras when bringing
in the rice which is their principal crop.

Respectfully submitted,
Blanche U. Eldridge
Rec. Sec.

I believe "Mrs. Francis B. Sayre" is Jessie Wilson Sayre, daughter of President Woodrow Wilson.
