Miss Coburn introduced the Gainsborough Ensemble, a musical trio, consisting of Mrs. Alice Hatch, singer; Mrs. Jessie Hatch Symonds, violinist, and Mrs. William Weston, pianist. This trio gave double pleasure, when they added to the exceptional charm of their music through the attractive costumes of the Gainsborough period. Tea was served in the lower hall. The large centre table was decorated with deep pink snapdragons combhined with baby's breath, the beautiful shade of the snapdragons being exactly matched by the tall candles. The pourers at this table were Mrs. Austin F. Whitcomb, Mrs. Samuel W. Andrew, Mrs. George N. Bliss, and Mrs. Arthur W. Barr. Frappe was served by Mrs. Charles H. Curtis, Mrs. Samuel B. Capen, Mrs. Henry C. Brewer, and Mrs. Frederick G. Boynton, while the coffee was in charge of Miss Anne Ealch and Miss Frances Goodwin.
