Carne Davis, Miss Elsie Buff, Miss Helen
Gordon, Miss Alice Hughes, Miss Clara Brown-
all in costume, and led by Mrs. Henry
Broughton, as Elder Brewster, in gown + cap.
Elder Brewster also hired off in the old-
time manner, the splendid hymn -
O God, beneath Thy guiding Hand-
and all joined in the singing.
The refreshments provided by Mrs. Eld-
ridge ad her committee, appeared as
fascinating indivual (sic?) squash pies in
paper cases, served with fruit punch.
The decorations were especially note-
worthy. Mrs. Wheeler kindly consented
to the removal of much of her own
furnishing, in order that the eye of the
arriving guest might be greeted by a
charming old time picture. A real, live
baby even rocked in a cradle 300 years
old, by the fireplace; and spinning
wheels, pewter plates and other quaint
objects completed the effect.
