Robert came to our carriage
reminding one of old
times with Mother) A.
managed to get a coupé
to ourselves to Paris wh.
place we did not arrive
at till 11.30. on Sunday
morg. Jan. 6th. It had
rained in Torrents at
almost 4 in the morg.
but at Paris there was
not much rain & the
snow had disappeared.
We went to the Hotel de
la Ville de Paris ([Pl.] d.
la Ville l'Evêque) I certainly
prefer the Grand Hotel
to any other; but A.
had taken a fancy to
this one during his last
visit, & wished to
return to it; we had
good bedrooms & a sitting
room: I [?????] in the
Palais Royal; & [Daub]-
[nards]; looked into the
Madelaine. We dined
at "Les trois frères" &
then saw "La vie Parisienne"
at the Pal. Royal. On
Monday Jan. 7th I [??????]
To "La Belle Hélène."
