[image] WATER LILIES
AQUATIC PLANTS.
The constantly increasing demand proves the coming popularity of aquatics. Their requirements are very simple, only sunshine, shallow water, and rich soil being necessary. Artificial ponds can easily be made or you can grow them in tubs or tanks. Most of the varieties we offer are also adapted for growing in aquariums in the house.

WATER HYACINTH.--One of the most remarkable, curious and beautiful plants. It floats in the water, forming a lovely rosette of its curious shining green leaves, and throws up spikes of most exquisite flowers. CABOMBA.--or Aquaria Moss.--This is the prettiest plant in existance [existence] for growing in aquariums, and also the most valuable. The foliage is of a beautiful light green and the leaves spread out like a fan, which gives it the name of Fanwort. The leaves are beautifully and regularly cut and resemble a delicate lace fern. Grows all the year round, but it looks a great deal better during the fall and winter months than during the spring. It may be broken any length and roots readily. It should be weighted down so that the base of the stems are in the sand. Per bunch of ten stems 25c, postpaid.
UMBRELLA PALM.--(Cyperus.)--An ormanental [ornamental] plant which throws up slender, round stems about two feet high, surmounted at the top by a whorl of flat, ribbon-like leaves, diverging horizontally, thus giving the plant a very curious and fantastical appearance. It is a splendid decorative plant, being as ornamental as a palm or fern, and above all it is as easily grown as the commonest weed, and will thrive in the shade as well as in the sun. It is an excellent plant for the dining-room table, or as a water plant in very moist spots, or for aquariums or fountains. It should have an abunddance [abundance] of water, though it will do fairly well in dry soil. We sell thousands of these plants and they are always satisfactory. Each 10c; larger 25c and 50c, each.
