THE MOST DELICIOUS OF ALL MELONS
THE PRINCESS

MUSK MELONS.--Ger. Melone.
One ounce will plant about 80 hills--two pounds to the acre.
The soil best adapted to the culture of Melons is a warm, rich, sandy loam. Plant in hills five or six feet apart each way, ten or twelve seeds in a hill. When they begin to vine, thin out, leaving only four of the most thrifty. As Melons are very sensitive to cold, they should not be planted till the settled warm weather begins--in this latitude about the middle of May. Cultivation should commence as soon as the plants appear above the ground, and be kept up once a week until the vines interfere too much.
You will be pleased with our Melon seeds.
IOWA SEED CO.'S IMPROVED GREEN NUTMEG.--See description on second page of cover, and be sure to try it. Crop of seed was very short this year. Per pkt. 10c., oz. 25c.

THE BANQUET.--Our illustration made from a photograph, well represents this extra fine new variety. It originated with C. P. Coy, the largest melon grower in the world, and he regards it as his greatest production. The flesh is dark rich salmon color, uniformly thick and of that granulated character which always indicates a good melon. It is larger in size than the Emerald Gem and differs from that variety in its outer appearance; of perfectly round shape, the skin is not ribbed, but is densely netted over its entire surface, making it in appearance one of the handsomest melons we have ever seen, and the quality is unsurpassed. The oft repeated question, "How can I raise good Musk Melons?" can now be answered. Plant the Banquet. Per pkt. 5c., oz. 15c., 1/4 lb. 50c., lb. $1.25.

MONTREAL MARKET.--Uniformly of large size, averaging from fifteen to twenty pounds in weight. Flesh very thick and of fine flavor. Per pkt. 5c., oz. 10c., 1/4 lb. 25c., lb. 75c.
PERFECTION.--Rich color and luscious flavor. Per pkt. 5c., oz. 10c., 1/4 lb. 25c., lb. 75c.
IOWA MASTODON.--The most extraordinary new variety which has been offered for many years and will create a sensation wherever seen--and we are the only seed dealers who can offer it this year. It is from Japan, and just a few seeds were sent over to a friend in this country. This friend knew of our interest in novelties and brought in specimens of the melon. One weighed 23 1/2 pounds and the other 25 pounds. We at once secured the entire crop, although but a few vines. The melons are all of monstrous size and exactly resemble the common Yankee Field Pumpkin, so nearly, in fact, as to even deceive us at first sight. The flesh is a clear creamy white and fully three and one-half inches thick, and of excellent flavor. The flesh is tender and sweet way up to the rind, which is thin and tough. The discovery of this new variety marks an epoch in melon culture in this country. The seeds are different and larger than any other sort. We have such a small quantity that this year we can only offer them in packets of ten seeds each at 25 cents per packet. Not more than one packet will be sold to any customer, as we know our supply will be exhausted long before the season is over, and we desire to have as many of our customers try them as possible.

Your Alaska Peas are the best I can get, being an early variety and a good yielder.--Mrs. Nettie Coe, Fansler, Iowa.
The All-Seasons Radish is the best we ever ate.--Mrs. Mary E. Burk, Boone, Iowa.
The Blood Turnip Beets raised from seed bought of you were very fine ones.--Wm. G. Warnock, Geneseo, Ill.

THE PRINCESS.--This splendid variety is nearly round, with heavily netted dark green skin; the flesh is of a rich salmon color, and in flavor is sweet and luscious beyond description. They ripen early and grow to good size, frequently weighing eight to ten pounds each. This is a grand new variety which it will pay you to try. Per pkt. 5c., oz. 10c., 1/4 lb. 30c., lb. $1.00.
OSAGE.--This new variety has created quite a stir in Chicago, where it sells at double the prices of any other variety. The skin is thin, of dark green color, and slightly netted. The flesh is of a salmon color, remarkably sweet and spicy in flavor, extremely thick, and delicious to the rind. The seed cavity is very small. All lovers of fine melons should try the Osage. Per pkt. 5c., oz. 10c., 1/4 lb. 30c., lb. $1.00.

I bought some seeds of you last year. Everything came all right. They were as good, if not better, than represented. Out of six hills of Fordhook Squash I got 126 squashes. Guernsey Parsnip can not be beat.--Mrs. E. C. Rowell, Ruthven, Iowa.
The vegetable seeds bought of you last year were fine, especially the Golden Heart Celery.--R. T. Kirk, New Sharon, Iowa.
