Wednesday, August 11, 1948 - Mother and I pealed and canned 6 qts of tomatoes. Rex got us a bushel of peaches and we pealed and canned 5 1/2 gallons of tomatoes. Rex helped us peal some. Rex gathered a few peaches off a tree in our yard. Mother & I and pealed them and got them ready to make preserves. Rex wanted to go to a supper tonight. I didnt want him to go. He didnt go but we had a fuss over the supper. We both got mad.
Thursday, August 12, 1948 - I made some peach preserves. Rex gathered us some grapes and Mother and I fixed them. I canned 1 gallon of grapes. I made the rest in jelly. I dont feel so well the last few days, the weather is so hot. Mrs Mann called today and says Ernest and wife have a new baby girl. Mrs Mann seemed well pleased.
