Thursday, August 5, 1948 - The oil stove came today that Rex gave me for my birthday. We cleaned up the house this morning. Rex brought us a bushel of peaches and Mother and I pealed and canned them this afternoon. We canned 5 gallon's & 1 qt of peaches. I made a little peach jelly. Uncle Brock will sleep at his little house again tonight. I don't think he will wan't to sleep up there many nights.

Friday, August 6, 1948 - We canned 3 qts of tomoatoes today. we cleaned up the house and have done the general house work. uncle brock will sleep down here tonight where he belongs. i dont think he slept so well at his little house. i think he feels better than he did a few days ago.
