Sunday, August 1, 1948 - Robert and I went to sunday school at Liberty this morning. Mother didnt go as she hated to leave Uncle Brock alone. We didnt have any one to preach today. Rev. Farrell was supposed to preach but one of his sons got killed in the mines so he didnt come. Lin and Watson McClaren came this afternoon. I read some this afternoon and read some tonight also.

Monday, August 2, 1948 - Betty came this morning and we washed. We didnt have any trouble with the washing machine. I dont feel well so i took a nap and read some while in bed. I read some tonight also. Lawerence and Jean didn't come tonight.
