Sunday, July 4, 1948 - Mother and I got on the bus and went to Sunday School and church at Liberty this morning. Robert didnt want to go so I let him stay at home. I walked to Mrs. Jones this afternoon and saw Mr. and Mrs. Jones and children. They were going to see Eddie so I didn't stay long. Rex, Robert and I then went to Loyd's and spent the rest of the afternoon. They were all at home.

Monday, July 5, 1948 - Rex gave a goat for the picnic so Mr. William Rodgers came early this morning and cooked the goat. Mother, Rex, Robert and I went to Mr. Rodgers to a picnic and spent the day. We all had lots to eat and I had a big time and I think the rest did also. There were a good many people there today. Madelyn, Aunt Bonnie and I went to see Hazel Berry and her new baby girl. There were at Homer Daughtrey's.
