Friday, July 2, 1948 - I made some jam this morning and canned 5 qts. of apples this morning. I went to Mrs. Jones this afternoon. I thought Jo-nell would be there but she had gone to town. Mrs. Jones was at home. Clifton came to Mrs. Jones before i came home. Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers passed while I was at Mrs. Jones on there way to see us so I came home. Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers didn't stay very long.

Saturday, July 3, 1948 - Mother, Rex, Robert and I went to town today. Mother and I got some new dresses and slippers. Mother then went in a taxi to Jessie's. Robert and I watched the parade then we ate our lunch and went to the Show. Rex took Robert to Jessie's. I walked to Jessie's later in the afternoon. I went down to the shop and talked to Jean a good while. Jessie said she wasn't feeling very well the last few days.
