Friday, June 18, 1948 - Ernest has been here all day and worked for Rex and will spend the night. I mopped and waxed the kitchen floor and washed my head. I patched some and made 3 of my every day dresses longer. I painted a rain barrel. i don't feel well. Mother and i got our checks from the mines at Pleasant View. we got $159.70 each.

Saturday, June 19, 1948 - Ernest ate dinner with us and went home this afternoon. Rex, Robert and I went to town this afternoon. Robert and I went to the Show. We went by Aunt Erma's and got Mother and brought her home. I think she enjoyed her trip. I don't feel well the last few days.
