Wednesday, January 1, 1947 It snowed all day yesterday so there was a snow on the ground this morning. It has warmed up & has rained some today. We cleaned up the house. I ironed a few pieces and mended some. Mary Jones came this morning & brought Mother, Robert & I a present. She bought Mother a box of powder. Robert a Book to color & some color crayons and brought me a bowl. I played with Robert some this afternoon. We colored in his new book some & I played "Tiddley Winks" with him. We all have stayed at home all day. Rex has been stripping tobacco. I Read some tonight. I Read 2 chapters in the "Bible" this afternoon.

Thursday, January 2, 1947 It has rained nearly all day. Most of the snow has melted. Rex went to town today. I finished ironing & have done the general house work. I played with Robert some this afternoon. I Read some tonight.

Friday, January 3, 1947 It has been turning colder all day. The ground is frozen. It snowed a little today. I helped Rex dip the water out of the cellar. I canned 3 gallons of Beaf today. Mother took a bath. I gave Robert a bath & took a bath this afternoon. I read in the paper where Stanley Taylor has been taken from the Madisonville Hospital to Louisville to a Hospital. I wrote a letter to Aunt Jannie Anderson. I Read some tonight.
