Rex, Robert & I started to Mr. Smith's & aimed to go fishing. We met Mr. Cell Uzzell & he said we had a death message from Madisonville. Rex went & called Madisonville & Jessie said Rev. Lean is dead. We will start home this afternoon instead of Tuesday. We are going home a different route. We will go nearly all the way on highway 41. It rained awful hard on us. Rex hoes to his water pump wore out & the Raditor leaked out & we had to stop and have it fixed. We couldn't make much time tonight. after the hard rain stopped. We got in a fog that we couldn't hardly see how to drive.

We wanted to drive most of the night so we could get home in time for the funeral. We couldn't find a place to sleep a few hours so we pulled off of the highway to & slept in the car a little while. We went through Atlanta Georgia & Chattanooga Tennessee. We went under one moutain before we got to Chattanooga and went over Mount Eagle. We found snow on top of the Mountain. They have some pretty building up on the mountain. We come through Nashville Tennessee. We got to Madisonville about 12 O'clock. We got home after 1 O'clock.
