[Left Page] [Monday, January 20, 1941] Uncle Brock and I washed today. I patched Rex's work jacket and listened to the radio this afternoon and took a nap.

[Right Page] [Tuesday, January 21, 1941] Rex went to town with some tobacco. I ironed and mended the clothes. Andrew came this afternoon and we played chinese checkers. I got a letter from Mathew and she says Dad isn't as well as usual. She says Dorthy (Slaton) Johnson has a new baby girl weighing 9 1/2 lbs.

[Left Page] [Wednesday, January 22, 1941] I patched Rex coat and have done the general house work and made me a new slip.

[Right Page] [Thursday, January 23rd, 1941] Rex and I went to Mathew's and Dad's a little while today. We got some corn and came by Mr. Gore's and had it crushed. Mathew and Dad are not getting along so well. Dad is having trouble with Risins and Mother with her arm. We stopped at Roy Slaton's store a while.

[Left Page] [Friday, January 24, 1941] I dressed a chicken, made a lemon cake for Rex birthday Made a sheet for mother and started making a brassiere for myself but didn't get it completed.

[Right Page] [Saturday January 25, 1941] I dressed a chicken, cleaned up the house and finished making my brassiere. John Marion ate dinner with us. He is helping Rex strip tobacco. Listened to the radio tonight.

[Left Page] [Sunday, January 26, 1941] Rex is 46 years old today. Mr. William Rodgers came a little while this morning. Listened to the radio today and also tonight.

[Right Page] [Monday, January 27, 1941] John Marion ate dinner with us. He helped Rex strip tobacco this morning. I made a sheet and pair of pillow cases I aim to give Uncle Brock for his birthday.

[Left Page] [Tuesday, January 28, 1941] Rex went to Owensborough today with some tobacco. Uncle Brock and I washed. Rex and I have been married 8 years today.

[Right Page] [Wednesday, January 29, 1941] Rex went to Owensborough again today. I got more of my ironing done. Have been awful blue today.
