TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1941 We ironed & I started making a gown. I have felt bad today.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1941 Uncle Brack came today with some of his things. He brought his oil stove & bed and a number of other things. I fixed a dress for Mother & made some soap. I had good luck with the soap. I finished making my gown & got supper tonight. My cold isn't any better.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1941 I made a gown for Robert and have done the general house work.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1941 We washed some today & have done the general house work.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1941 We went to town this afternoon. Mother, Robert & I went to Jessie's. Mother & I went with Sis down in town & we did part of our Xmas shopping. Robert cried a good deal so I guess I won't leave Robert anymore with Jessie unless Mother will stay with him. Mother, Rex, Robert & I went to Sis & will spend the night. Listened to Dock's new Radio tonight.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1941 We spent the day with Sis. We persuaded her to go to Sunday School this morning. Lonna, B.J., Bobby, Jimmy, Amelia, Jim, Nora Lee & Evelyn came to Sis this afternoon. They started to come see us but John Marion told them we were a Nannie Mae's so they came there a little while.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1941 The United States declaired war on Japan today. They attacked some of our Islands without warning and killed a lot of our men & destroyed our ships Sunday so there was nothing left to do but declaire war. Mother & I strightened the house & I sewed some.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1941 We washed today. We washed some for Uncle Brack. He has a real bad cold. We heard President Roosevelt make his first war speach over the radio tonight.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1941 We ironed & have done the general house work.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1941 Italy & Germany declaired war on the U.S. We all expected it so we were not surprise. We washed again today.
