Rex and I went to Dock's a little while this afternoon and got some water. Mary, Stella and Ruby were there helping Sis quilt. We came back by Roy Slaton's store and stopped a while.

I stayed at home all day and listened to the Radio some.

Monday, January 6, 1941
Mr. Gipson told us of andrew getting hurt while riding their horse. We killed hogs today. Mr. Gipson and Dock helped and ate dinner with us. Listened to President Roosevelt speak over the Radio. Jay, Uncle Brock & I cut up the meat for the lard this afternoon. Rex & Jay ground sausages tonight.
Tuesday, January 7, 1941
Rex went to town with some tobacco today. John came and rerendered our lard. I have washed jars and made sausages sacks. Jay and I sacked the sausages tonight.

Wednesday, January 8, 1941
Uncle Brock & I washed today. We went to see Andrew this afternoon. He is some better. He hurt his leg when he fell from their horse and is in pretty bad shape. John and Alma came tonight.

Clarance James was here for dinner today. Rex got sick and unable to work this afternoon. He has the flu. I ironed this afternoon.

Friday, January 10, 1941
I have done the general house work and fried and canned 2 gallons and 1 qt of sausages. Rex is still sick today.

We didn't get to go to town today as Rex wasn't able. I have cleaned up the house washed my kitchen windows and hung the curtains. Mr. Gipson came to see Rex a while tonight.
