MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 1941
Rex went to Mr. Parker's and got us two bushels of peaches. Willie helped Mother peal the peaches. I canned 10 gallons of peaches. I am sure tired tonight. It rained hard tonight. Uncle Brack came this afternoon and will spend the night.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19, 1941
Jay came today & got his clothes. He had been gone since Thursday. We were a little shocked at him leaving at the present time. Mother & I haven't felt so well today. I guess we worked to hard yesterday. Uncle Brack went home this morning.
