MONDAY, APRIL 28, 1941
Rex & I went down & told Mother & Uncle Brock about Dad being dead. They were both shocked. Mother & I ate dinner at Jessie's. She went to see Dad this afternoon at the Strother funeral home. Jessie & Amelia went with her. Sis stayed with me. Mrs. Rudd & Eila came & stayed a while with us. Mother spent the night with Aunt Ermie & Rex & I came home. Mother went to the funeral home again tonight.

TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 1941
We went to town this morning & ate dinner at Jessie's. We met at the funeral home & went to Pleasant View Church for the funeral at 2 o'clock. Rev. Willis Crumbaker preached the funderal. I like what he said fine. There was a large crowd. Rex & I will spend the night with Mother & Uncle Brack. Mother is getting along much better than I thought she could.
