DECEMBER 9

1931. Went to school today. Ernest and myself went to town this afternoon and went through the new Post office. Wrote a letter to Cosby tonight.

1932. I went to Ocie's a little while this morning. I've embroidered some today. I got a letter from Rex and a card from Alline Slaton.

1933. Sis went to Jessie's yesterday afternoon & is going to spend the week end. I got breakfast cleaned up the house & got dinner this morning. I fixed the hem in my red skirt this afternoon. I dressed a duck tonight.

1934. Sis went to Sunday School this morning but I didn't go I stayed at home & got dinner. Sis went to Mary's & to Loyd's this afternoon. Joe & Basil came this afternoon.

1935. I have been quilting today Amelia came this afternoon and helped me quilt.

DECEMBER 10

1931. Went to school today. Studied a little this afternoon. Mrs. Mann is still sick today and Ernest & myself cooked breakfast.

1932. It sleated [sleeted] last night and the ground is covered with ice today. I have embroidered some today. Mother and I played checkers tonight.

1933. I got breakfast, cleaned up the house and got dinner this morning. Rex and I went hickory nut hunting this afternoon. We went on horse's. Sis came home this afternoon.

1934. I churned, got dinner & read some today. Sis & I got supper tonight. Earl, Basil & Albert came this afternoon. It has snowed a little today. I patched a pair of socks tonight.

1935. Leona & Mrs. Rigney spent the day with us & we quilted. Mrs. Merrill came this afternoon & helped us quilt. We finished the quilt today except binding it. We finished killing hogs this afternoon.

DECEMBER 11

1931. Went to school today, and came home this afternoon. Mrs. Mann is some better today.

1932. The ground is still covered with ice and Rex didn't get to come. Eble came a while this morning and Ocie came this afternoon. I've read today some.

1933. I got dinner, cleaned up the house, churned and embroidered today. I wrote a letter to Mother today.

1934. Kate washed for us today. I got a letter from Mother today. I got dinner & supper & read some today. John Marion & Albert came a little while tonight.

1935. I ironed today and done the general house work. Rex helped me. Roy Slaton kill hogs this morning. He rendered our lard this afternoon.

DECEMBER 12

1931. Stayed at home all day, and studied my lesson's a little.

1932. The ground is still covered with ice. I finished reading "Lavender and Old Lace", and embroidered some. I got a card from Mearl Bone and also one from Christia Lee.

1933. I cleaned up the house and got dinner and embroidered some and patched 3 pairs of overalls.

1934. I ironed this morning & got dinner. Elizabeth, William Ross, Leona & Margarette came this afternoon and we played Rook & popped corn. We played 5 games & Leona & I beat 4 of them.

1935. I have sacked and fried sausage's today. I churned tonight and Sis cooked supper.

[1931.] Stayed at home all day and studied my Physics and Shorthand lessons's some. It has rained today and Cosby didn't get to come.

[1932.] Eble came a while this morning Dad & I went to Lorene Martin's a while this afternoon. I mailed a card to Mearl Bone and a letter to Rex today.

[1933.] I cleaned up the house got dinner and embroidered some this morning. Dock and I washed this afternoon.

[1934.] I finished ironing & got dinner & patched some today & wrote a letter to Mother. Rex went to town this morning. Loyd & Jasper ate dinner with us today.

[1935.] I have done the regular house work and bound part of the quilt. Edna & Albert came a little while tonight.

[1931.] Came to town this morning and went to school. I typed a little while after school. Alline Slaton & myself went to town this afternoon.

[1932.] It snowed this morning. I finished reading "The Mistress of Shenstone." I went to Ocie's a little while this afternoon. Mother & I played checkers tonight.

[1933.] I cleaned up the house got dinner and ironed today Jasper came a while today. John Marion came also.

[1934.] I got dinner, churned & cleaned up the house this morning. Miss Mary & several girls came this afternoon & practiced singing some Christmas carols. Modest & Callie came a little while this afternoon also.

[1935.] Nora Lee, Sis, Rex & I went to town today and I got part of my christmas presents. Nora Lee & I went to see Lonna a few minutes. I got a letter from Aline Rogers today[?].

DECEMBER 15

1931. Went to school today and I made 92 on an English test. I typed a little while after school. Studied my lessons some tonight.

1932. I went to see Lorene this afternoon, she has the flu. Mrs. Melton & I went to the Church for a funeral, we stayed until nearly 5 o'clock, but they never did come.

1933. I house cleaned the middle room today and got dinner. I read some tonight.

1934. I got dinner & helped clean up the house this morning. Sis went to town today. Rex & Dock went to town this afternoon. Buck, Basil, Elizabeth & Margarete came tonight and we played Rook.

1935. I got dinner this morning & helped clean up the house. Mary & Joseph came this afternoon. Rex & I went to see Aunt Ida. She isn't feeling as well the last few days.

DECEMBER 16

1931. I went to school today . I typed a little while after school. Alline Slaton & myself went to town this afternoon. I got a letter from Cosby today.

1932. Dad & I went to Mrs. Maxwell's this morning and I stopped in to see Mrs. Nourse [?] a little while. The Hunt child was buried this afternoon, they had trouble & didn't come yesterday as they intended.

1933. I cleaned up the house, made a cake & got dinner this morning. Rex and I went to town this afternoon and I went to Mrs.Mann's a little while. Mrs. Mather was at Mrs. Mann's also.

1934. Mary & Stella came this morning & stayed a little while. Joe, John, Marion, Basil & June came this afternoon . Joe, Evelyn and Nora Lee came a while tonight.

1935. Kate washed today. I cleaned up the middle room and did the general house work.

[1931.] Went to school today. Studied a little this afternoon. Joe Mitchell came a little while tonight.

[1932.] Dad & I went to town today and I stopped in to see Mrs. Mann a little while. I played Solitary [solitaire?] tonight.

[1933.] Rex and I spent the day at Aunt Jessie's. Sis spent the day at Loyd's It has rained all day.

[1934.] Kate washed for us today and I cleaned up the house & got dinner. I have been nearly sick today. Rex & Dock went to the Island to work today. Leona, William Ross & Nealie came a little while late this afternoon. Joe came tonight.

[1935.] I ironed today, washed my head and have done the general house work.

[1931.] Went to school today. Rex Slaton brought me home this afternoon.

[1932.] Mr. & Mrs. Melton & Mrs. Johnson spent the day with us. Eble Hartman came a while this morning. I went to see Blanche late this afternoon & spent the night with her.

[1933.] I cleaned up the house, got dinner and made a fruit cake. I washed my head today also. It has rained all the afternoon.

[1934.] I cleaned up the house, churned got dinner & ironed today. I got supper also. I got a letter from Mother today. I cut my hand today.

[1935.] I went to Leona's to the Missionary meeting. There were 14 members, 1 new member & 8 visitors present. Leona had her club quilt in and part of us quilted and the ones that didn't quilt pieced on a quilt.
