APRIL 21

1931. Went to school today and went out to Uncle Rufe's & spent the night, we played cards & played the Radio some.

1932. It rained so hard that we couldn't go to school today. Rudell & her beau brought me to town tonight.

1933. I got breakfast, cleaned up the house and got dinner today. I went to Earl Slaton's a while this afternoon. I got a letter from Christia Lee Schmetzer yesterday.

1934. I cleaned up the house and got dinner this morning. Sis, Mr. Slaton & I went to town this afternoon. Rex, Dock & Earl went to town this afternoon also. Sis brought me home home this afternoon & I am going to stay a week & help Mother house clean. Dad is sick.

1935. I stayed at home all day. Joseph came this afternoon. Joseph, Rex and I played Rook. I read some tonight.

APRIL 22

1931. Went to school & came home tonight. I got my grade cards today I didn't make as good as I thought I might.

1932. Went to school today & came home this afternoon. Dad & I went to church at Pleasant View tonight. Rev. Anderson preached & Mr. Morse mad a talk.

1933. I did the house work today. Nealie Slaton came this morning and spent the day with me. I got a card from Sis today.

1934. It rained nearly all day today and Mother & I didn't get to go to church as we had intended to. Dad isn't any better today. Ocie came this afternoon. I went to see Uncle Brock late this afternoon.

1935. Sis & I washed this morning. Sis went to Leona's & helped her put Elizabeth's quilt in the frames. I stayed at home & worked on my quilt some. Ruby & Jasper came a little while tonight.

APRIL 23

1931. Went to school today, Fannie Mae & myself sit together in short hand class & we had a good time.

1932. Studied some this morning. Mrs.Conley, Raymond, Mother & I went to see Mrs. Kirkwood this afternoon. She is no better.

1933. Loyd & Jasper came a while this morning. Rex and I went to Browder's to church this morning. Lin, Jess and Miss Ethel Brown came this afternoon. Sis came home from Louisville this afternoon.

1934. Mother & I washed and ironed today. Dad isn't any better today, Mother & I played Rook tonight.

1935. I ironed this morning and worked on my quilt some. I went to Leona's this afternoon & helped quilt some. Mrs. Ed Sisk was there also. Leona went to take Kate's mother to see Kate so she wasn't at home all the afternoon but wasn't gone so very long.

APRIL 24

1931. Went to school today, went to town after school and mailed a letter to Cosby.

1932. Ada and Robert Utley came this morning and spent the day. Cosby came this after.

1933. Sis and I have quilted some today.

1934. I painted Mother's room ceiling this morning. Mother & I fixed one side of the back porch screen this afternoon and papared a little. I went to Ocie's a little while this afternoon, I went to Uncle Brock's late this afternoon. Mother & I played Rook tonight. Dad isn't and better today.

1935. Sis ironed and I finished piecing the quilt & Sis helped me set it together & Ruby & Jasper came this afternoon & Ruby helped us put the quilt in the frame & they quilted some.

APRIL 25

1931. Stayed at home all day, studied Geometry quite a bit, and set out some flowers in the yard.

1932. Came to town this morning and went to school. Alline came a little while this afternoon, & we studied English a little.

1933. Sis and I washed this morning. Elizabeth Slaton came this afternoon. Sis is making her a new dress.

1934. Mother & I finished papering mother room today. Dad isn't very much better today. I went to Uncle Brack's late this afternoon.

1935. I have quilted all day. Sis helped me quilt this afternoon & we quilted until 10:00 o'clock tonight but we didn't get the quilt finished. I am fixing a baby quilt for Alyene's baby.

1931. Dad & myself went to see Lorene Martin this afternoon, Cosby came over after me & brought me home.

1932. Went to school today. Our Physics class went to Earlington this morning and went through the power plant. Studied some tonight.

1933. Sis and I ironed this morning. Elizabeth came this afternoon. Rex and I went with Stella and Fletch to the play at Anton tonight.

1934. I painted the kitchen ceiling this morning and washed down the walls this afternoon. Dad is a little better today. I went to Uncle Brack's late this afternoon. I wrote a letter to Rex yesterday.

1935. Sis & I finished quilting the baby quilt this morning & Sis took me to aunt Georgie's & I will spend the day. Sis spent the day with Jess and they found the quilt for me. Sis came to aunt Georgie's this afternoon. I think Alyene has a real sweet baby. Alyene & aunt Georgie folks seemed to like the baby quilt.

APRIL 27

1931. Went to school today, and went to Uncle Hiram's funeral and also to the burying this afternoon.

1932. I have been sick today & didn't go to school. Alline came this afternnon a little while & we studied English a little.

1933. Sis and I have quilted today. Evelyn came this afternoon.

1934. Mother & I cleaned up the house today Dad went to the doctor this afternoon & he said Dad has heart trouble, high blood pressure & is swollen pretty badly.

1935. I have been nearly sick today. Sis house cleaned the Living Room this afternoon. I got breakfast this morning & Sis got dinner. I wrote a letter to Mother today.

APRIL 28

1931. Went to school today and went to see Lurene this afternoon. I stopped in to see Aunt Ernie a little while.

1932. Went to school today. I am a good deal better today. I got a letter from Cosby today. I studied a little this afternoon.

1933. Sis and I have quilted today.

1934. Uncle Brock & I went to town today & I ate dinner at Jessie's. I went to Mrs. Mann's a while this morning & also this afternoon. Mrs. Mann called the doctor for me to ask about Dad and he doesn't think Dad will get well.

1935. Sis went to Sunday School & church at Browder's this morning but I didn't go. Fletcher & Stella came this afternoon.

APRIL 29

1931. Went to school today, nothing happened unusual. Ben Ashmore's grand-mother was buried today.

1932. Went to school today. It has rained so hard that I didn't go home this afternoon. Ernest went to the circus this afternoon.

1933. Sis and I finished quilting my quilt today. Basil, June and Buck came a while tonight.

1934. Uncle Rufe came home with Uncle Brock & I yesterday afternoon & spent the night with us and is going to spend the day. Dad is a little better today. Mr. & Mrs. Gene Melton, Mrs. Utley, Lorene & Mildred & Rex spent the day with Mother & Dad. Mr. Jess Ashby, W. D, & Mr. Nurse came this afternoon.

1935. I cleaned out the wardrobe in Rex & my room this morning. I went to Leona's this afternoon & helped to quilt on Elizabeth's quilt. Sis went also.

APRIL 30

1931. Went to school today, set out flowers in the yard this afternoon, studied a little night.

1932. Ernest & I cleaned up the house this morning. Dad came after me and I came home this afternoon.

1933. Sis & I went to Sunday School & church this morning. Lin, Lawrence, Jess, Mr. & Mrs. Berton, their son, and two grand daughter's came this afternoon. Fletch, Stella, Uncle George, and Mary came late in the afternoon. Cousin Herb Slaton came also.

1934. Mother & I washed today. I went to Ocie's & also to Uncle Brock a little while this afternoon. Dad is better today.

1935. Kate washed for us. Kate's mother came with her. I house cleaned the middle room today. Sis went to Leona's & helped to quilt on Elizabeth's quilt this afternoon.
