Dear Ms. Phipps,

Please forgive me for being so slow in answering your kind letter. The pressures of election activity and pre-legislative meetings have caused my correspondence to lag.

I am sure that, by now, your speech project has been completed. While I did not have tapes or copies of speeches to send, I would have liked to have been able to at least send you encouragement and refer you to the Reader's Guide at the school library.
