Dear Reg,
This is not a letter-to-the-editor, but a letter to you in reference to your November 24 column.
I think Hal Suit received nearly 40% of the black vote because he was an Atlantan, not a South Georgian; because he exuded confidence and sincerity, but most importantly, because Carter beat Sanders, a black favorite, and had to be punished.
In my opinion, law and order and good goverment and concern about inflation had nothing to do with it.
