This is to thank you for taking the time to attend our meeting on September 21, 1968 ^at South Carolina State College. Your speech and presence were of great value to making the meeting such a success. We hope you enjoyed to meeting as much as we did and look forward to getting together with you again. Meanwhile, we will try to keep you informed of our plans and activities.

I failed to discuss with you the possibility of your addressing a Fund Raising Banquet for George H. Brown, Jr., a law classmate of mind who is running as an Independant from Memphis, for the Tennessee Legislature. They are planning such and affair around the middle of October. If you would call me immediately upon receipt of this letter, we can work out the details of it.
