Dear Mr. Bond:

I have recently attended an invitation seminar sponsored by the Council on Religion and International Affairs of New York. The three day affair consisted of the presentation of six papers, followed by discussion sessions.

The papers were presented by outstanding people - for example, Saul Padover of The New School of Social Research; Ralph Townley, British member of the U. N. Development Program staff; and Quentin Quade, a very bright political philosopher from Marquette whose subject was the relationship of religion to politics.

I am writing you to say that I have submitted your name as a potential future participant. The number invited to any one session is limited. There is a fairly substantial fee but I understand some scholarship help is available.

I am sure you would both enjoy and contribute to any such session you might attend. The Council on Religion and International Affairs was founded by Andrew Carnegie, but has not sponsored these seminars in the South until fairly recently.

Yours,

(Mrs.) Martha C. McKay
Director of Special Projects
