FUNERAL NOTICE
The funeral of the late WILLIAM M.
BLACKFORD, will take place at St. Paul's
Church, on Sunday evening, at 3 o'clock.

OFFICE OF THE EXHANGE BANK OF VA.,
Lunchburg, April 16, 1861.

It having pleased the Great Disposer of all
events to remove from us our late worthy
Cashier, WM. M. BLACKFORD, Esq., who has
filled that office since the orgnaization of the
Bank; and we, the Board of Directors, being desirous of paying the tribute of our testimony to his worth, and commemorating his many shining virtues, do, therefore

Resolve, That we held the deceased in high
appreciation as a faithful and upright of-
ficer of this Bank, as an agreeable associate,
a good citizen, and an amiable Christian gen-
tlemen; and that we earnestly deplore and lament his removal from our service and
companionship.

Resolved, That the calamity which his
afflicted family has sustained in the death
of their honored and beloved head, is one
truly severe and painful, and that we tender
the assurance of our sincere sympathy with
them in the irreparable loss which they have been called upon to sustain.

Resolved, as a further testimony of our
respect for the deceased, we will attend his
funeral obsequies in a body.

Resolved, That these resolutions be entered
on the minutes of the Board; that they be
published in the city papers and that a copy
be sent to the family of our departed friend.
