Barton 31 March 1870

Dear Sister:

I must answer your letter in the bed. There was some trouble in Appleton and Little Chute so I had to go up there again and I took a very bad cold got wet a couple times Sister Benedicta arrived in Barton Tuesday evening I was just that day in Fond du Lac both are making a retreat as Rev. F. gives next week they are going to Defiance. I am sorry that P.C. is angry at her she ought to thanked him also before she left. Sister Josephine better stay up there now till you come down the stage is not going till the roads are better therefore she can help Lidwina teach and if you wish you can keep her up there for Barbara is not as good as I thought she was and I dont want to give her the habit till she is better. Sisters left Schleisingerville they are going to have a priest of there own
